Chiayun Wu was born in 1988 in Yilan, Taiwan. She received her Master’s degree in moving images from the Royal College of Art in the UK and dual Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in motion pictures and fine arts from the National Taiwan University of Arts. Chiayun’s works include film, video art and mixed media installation. Her films have been selected by the UK Chinese Visual Festival, the Shanghai International Film Festival, the Kaohsiung Film Festival, the Women Make Waves Film Festival, the Golden Harvest Awards and The European Independent Film Channel. One of her image works was awarded first prize by the Taiwan Photo Museum, and was added to the collection of the Art Bank. In 2017, Chiayun won the MIT new artist award from the Ministry of Culture, the Next Art Tainan Awards and the Kaohsiung Awards.
