Li-xuan Xu was born in Hualien, Taiwan, and graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Taipei National University of the Arts. He is currently studying in the Graduate Institute of Plastic Arts, Tainan National University of the Arts. Xu received the 15th Taoyuan Contemporary Art Award, and his works were also selected by Yui Mom Group-Alien Art for the company’s new talents collection. In 2014 and 2015, Xu’s works were showcased in “Four Artists Group Exhibition” and “Before It Happens” joint exhibitions, while in 2016, he participated in the “Shian Duh Juang Hotel” group exhibition. The current focus of his works is on establishing a scene from fragments of his personal memory, and although the scene displays a theatrical moment from one particular incident, there are constant movements in every moment of life. Members of the audience may have experienced similar moments in their past, so Xu attempts to summon these sensory experiences by reorganizing common pieces of our collective memory.
