張文菀的創作常跳脫日常符號系統的既定印象，透過帶有懷疑的視角對日常與藝術提出提問，並以輕鬆幽默的方式反思生活中習以為常的事物。其作品挑戰觀眾既有的觀看方式，鬆動固有的認知與邏輯框架，進而拓展更多思考的可能性。重要經歷包括「紐約三角藝術協會春季駐村」(2024，紐約丹波)、「找一個單字來區別自己-張文菀個展」(2024，伊日後樂園)、「筆記本在想什麼-張文菀個展」(2023，德鴻畫廊)、「誠實的觀者與受騙的作品-張文菀個展」(2022，福利社)。曾獲第十一屆紐約遊歷計畫、第一屆及第二屆台北藝術大學當代雕塑麗寶獎首獎。

Wen-Woan Chang’s practice departs from conventional everyday sign systems, approaching the ordinary and art through a questioning and skeptical lens. With a light sense of humor, her works reflect on the familiar, challenging habitual ways of seeing and loosening fixed cognitive and logical frameworks to open new possibilities for thought.

Key experiences include the Triangle Arts Association Spring Residency (2024, New York, Dumbo), the solo exhibition " Find a Word to Distinguish Oneself" (2024, BACK_Y), " What Do You Have in Mind, Dear Notebooks?" (2023, Der-Horng Art Gallery), and " Honest Spectator and Deceived Works" (2022, FreeS Art Space). She has also been awarded the 11th New York Travel Program, as well as the First Prize in both the 1st and 2nd Contemporary Sculpture Lih Pao Awards at the Taipei National University of the Arts.
