長期以來，我都希望藉由創作提出我對於所在的文化、環境、社會、歷史、政治等切身相關問題的看法。年輕時的我經常對於主流意識採取批判的姿態，以此確認自己作為一個藝術家價值。到了中年，我嘗試以開放、詼諧之外而又盡求深刻的手法來創作，希望能夠對於大多數人視而未見的臺灣文化特質，作一另類的反思。對我而言，藝術就是我的發言權。而現在，隨著時代環境變遷，我個人的心境也改變了，此時的我除了對抗之外，還有很多種思考角度與表達方式，想通了這一點，我創作的形式、內容、思維，同步邁進了新的階段。創作，至今仍然是我最為熱衷的日常，作品的形式或許一直在推衍變化，卻從不曾脫離我以「藝術」來回應、來詮釋：我，與我所經歷的時代、所從出的這塊土地。

For many years, through art creation, I have endeavored to express my opinion on contemporary cultural, environmental, societal, historical and political developments. In my younger days, to assert my value as an artist I was constantly critical of mainstream ideology. Now, as I reach middle age, I am trying to create art in a more open, humorous, yet in-depth way. I wish to take on the cultural characteristics that people have taken for granted in Taiwan and to reconsider their existence. Art has always been my right of speech; however, as we evolve through changes in society, my state of mind has also transformed. Now, rather than being confrontational, I have developed many alternative ways of thinking and expression. The forms, content, and ideology of my creation simultaneously evolved to a new phase after I changed my perspective on art. Art creation is what I love the most in life. The forms of creation may be constantly changing, but never have they failed to respond to the themes of my identity, my experiences, and my land.
